Here is the 3761, I built this but subsequently it met a bad fate. I can attest that 40 year old plastic doesn’t meld well with outside forces, like an accidental foot step.

These kits were made by POLA in West Germany. They are not the greatest quality. If you built models in the early 80’s, than you know the kits like AMT/Ertl were not as good as Monogram/Revell. These are what I’d say are ABS or PVC plastic maybe. They aren’t the soft plastic like polystyrene.
 
Something funny about the train equivalent to this kit, is that it doesn't come with a sticker sheet. The instructions say " You will find signs to decorate the model under the front flap of the box. Use the picture on the lid as a guide for placement." What that means is they are cardboard and part of the box. The really funny part is some of the later kits, there were no signs printed on the box. So you are like WTF Where are the stickers?
