I have one I purchased as a kid from Kay-Bee Toys. Anyone remember them? I played with it hard as you can see from the picture.
I think there is another version of this trailer that is even harder to find. This one is the more common of the two.

Nobody knows which one was produced first. Back during this time period, a lot of variations were actually production mistakes or cost cutting measures, but there is no real way to know. Some of this stuff was adapted from the HO trains as well and could be related to product runs for the trains.
