I'm not sure why the auction didnt update the last bid but the set didn't get split up.
That's good to know! I tried to help the seller after he messaged me, and he seemed thankful at first, but it was futile. He asked me to post his listing here, and I told him you can do that for free yourself. So, what does he do? Creates a post that simply says "New action added on
eBay. Shell sign and phone booth in one auction. The remaining set is being auctioned in a separate auction."
No photos, no link to the auction, nothing. LOL. The post got deleted with a link to the pinned instructions for posting items for sale and he sent me a message saying "Are you serious" and told me to delete his account. SMH. I did ban him from the site, but as you see, I edited his post for him afterwards and added the photos etc.
It's just amazing that people have a rare item and half-ass take photos, no video on
ebay, do not assemble to demonstrate it works etc. Helped you though! He could have got $1500 or more had he properly listed the item and took better photos IMHO. One has not sold in almost a year and prices are rising.
I purchased both the auctions that evening. The total in the end was 1200$ for both. Whi. h given the last set I saw on Ebay was your set listed at 3k that sold for 2100. I think I did alright. I know how rare this set is there are a lot of pieces in this set that were only available in this set. I also won the bid for the 3939 black and gold truck.
That is good to know! It looks like
ebay anonymizes the buyer's user ID as seen below which I didn't know. The feedback score is the same. The last two sets that were sold on
ebay were both mine, the one that sold for 2100 had brand new stickers for the phone booth track and shell station, cleaning, working demonstration video so I held out on it for the right buyer, took over a year to sell. Your set would have likely brought more money had the seller sold it in one auction. He told me he didn't realize it all went together and I said, there are photos on the box. LOL He could have deleted the auctions and relisted it as one.
When the items arrive in the mail I'll upload photos of the new addition and a photo of all the vehicles I have collected!
Please do and post a video if possible. Make a new thread in Show and Tell so it goes out in the weekly newsletter!
