Hey all, I stumbled across this community while surfing the web for some childhood nostalgia in the form of, you guessed it, US Electric Trucking! These sets were some of my favorite toys growing up, predating even my love for LEGO or Nintendo. I had largely forgotten about this era of my early childhood. That is, until today.

My mother recently went under contract for a new house. She is something of a hoarder, keeping boxes of things and trinkets from over the decades. Her mother was similar, and when she passed many of those items my grandma clung to found their new home at my mom’s. Anyway, my siblings and I (but mostly them, not I) have been clearing out her house in preparation for the move.

Today, I was up and my target was the garage. I pawed through box after box of old photos, newspaper clippings, old tools that had long been replaced, electronics in various states of disrepair, empty tv boxes saved for whatever reason, etc. Towards the back, I found what brought me here: US Electric Trucking sets! And we’re not talking one or two sets, I found FIVE BOXES holding various sets and accessories. The kicker? All of these sets are in sealed boxes. Never even been enjoyed! Long story even longer, no I don’t know what all I have yet. I joined here to learn about the current state of these nostalgic toys and wondering if we really have something here. I will be going through the boxes in the days ahead to inventory what all is there. I’ll keep you posted!

Update:

Maybe NOT the treasure trove I first suspected. It’s a bunch of accessory track stuff for the most part. One used (and incomplete) playset. A few trucks. I’m attaching photos for proof of life. I’ll have to get more detailed photos if/when I throw this stuff on eBay. I wish this stuff would have surfaced 40 years ago so I could’ve at least played with it!
